The VP PTA is excited to kick off this year’s SPIRIT RUN fundraiser! On Thursday, October 16th (rain date 10/17), parent volunteers will welcome your child down to the lower field during their recess time for relay races, field games, and popsicles! There will be music and an emcee making this experience extra fun for all. 

Children will be wearing their new Spirit Run t-shirts that will be used again for Field Day in the spring as well as other spirit days throughout the year.

Spirit Run is our biggest annual fundraiser and engages participation from the entire school. Donations help pay for VP PTA initiatives such as:

• "Willy Wonka Kids" enhancements & celebrations
• School-wide visiting author & illustrator presentations
• Staff Appreciation Week & year-round hospitality
• School garden seasonal planting & classes for each grade
• Integrated Studies in-school enrichment for each grade
• Teacher & staff mini-grant opportunities
• Memory-makers like Ice Cream Social, SkyDome, & EarthDome
• And MORE!

With this year’s goal of $10,000, we hope you’ll consider donating, as well as encourage your child to share about all the wonderful things our PTA offers the school community (and the new prizes they can earn!) with family and friends. When donating, we welcome you to earmark your donation toward any of these specific initiatives in a comment on your child’s fundraising page or in an email to vpespta@gmail.com, and the VP PTA Executive Board will be happy to honor your request.

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO? 

STEP 1: Register your kid(s); it takes two minutes!

Because Spirit Run is PTA-led on the lower field, we need permission from parents/guardians for each child to participate.  Children will NOT be able to participate without a form filled out and we want everyone to join in on the fun! Please click here to give your child permission by October 1st.

STEP 2: Sign up to volunteer on the BIG DAY, if you're available

Please know that this highly-anticipated event CANNOT happen without YOU, the volunteers! Teachers will be enjoying their lunch/prep period during this time, but volunteers will make sure that ALL kids are cheered on. Sign up BY OCTOBER 13th here! 

STEP 3: Check your email for a link to your child’s unique 99Pledges fundraising page coming soon

You may customize your child’s page then donate and/or share with family and friends so that they may donate as well — increasing your child’s contribution and opportunity to earn NEW PRIZES (see below). Funds may be raised all the way through Friday, October 17th.

To make our year-round, school-wide initiatives possible, individual fundraising goals begin at $35, but you may choose to edit this amount. Every child will receive a shirt regardless of the amount of funds raised so that everyone can show their VP spirit at Spirit Run and throughout the year.
