The VP PTA is excited to kick off this year’s SPIRIT RUN fundraiser! On Thursday, October 22nd (rain date 10/23), our students will head to the lower field during their recess period where parent volunteers will greet them for a fun-filled Spirit Run celebration featuring music, movement, school spirit, and plenty of excitement. Children will be wearing their new Spirit Run t-shirts for the activities.

Spirit Run is our largest annual fundraiser and engages participation from the entire school. Donations support many of the programs and experiences that enrich our children's school year, including:

  • Special programming and all school assemblies such as the highly anticipated return of SkyDome this spring

  • The VP Garden Enrichment classes offered to every grade

  • Author and illustrator visits and signed books

  • Staff appreciation week and year-round hospitality

  • Integrated Studies in-school enrichments for each grade

  • Teacher grants and classroom enhancements

  • The VP Fall Play, Peter Pan JR and the annual VP Variety Show

  • School traditions such as the Ice Cream Social and Trunk-or-Treat

  • And MORE!

With this year’s goal of $15,000, we hope you’ll consider donating, as well as encourage your child to share about all the wonderful things our PTA offers the school community (and the new prizes they can earn!) with family and friends. When donating, we welcome you to earmark your donation toward any of these specific initiatives in a comment on your child’s fundraising page or in an email to vpespta@gmail.com, and the VP PTA Executive Board will be happy to honor your request.

 
 
 

 

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO? 

STEP 1: Register Your Child(ren); it takes two minutes!

Because Spirit Run is PTA-led event on the lower field, we need permission from parents/guardians for each child to participate during their recess time. Children will NOT be able to participate without a form filled out and we want everyone to join in on the fun!

STEP 2: Volunteer on the BIG DAY! 

This highly anticipated event cannot happen without our wonderful volunteers!

Whether you can help with setup, water stations, cheering students on, or cleanup, we'd love your support. Teachers will be using this time for lunch and prep periods, so parent volunteers are essential to making Spirit Run a success.

STEP 3: Activate & Share Your Child's 99Pledges Fundraising Page

Watch your email for a link to your child's personal 99Pledges fundraising page. You can also find it at https://app.99pledges.com/fund/vpesspirit26. 

 

You can:

  • Customize your child's page

  • Make a donation

  • Share with family and friends

  • Track fundraising progress

Fundraising will remain open through Thursday, October 22nd.

To make our year-round, school-wide initiatives possible, individual fundraising goals begin at $35, but you may choose to add to this suggested amount.

The VP Spirit Goal

In addition to individual prizes, we're working together toward a school-wide fundraising goal of $15,000!

If we reach our goal, we will get to Pie The Principal!! That’s right, the whole school will come together to see Feathers deliver a pie in the face to our very own Dr. Prendergast! 

Throughout the fundraiser, we'll share progress updates so students can see how their efforts are helping move our entire school closer to the goal. After all, every donation helps make VP an even better place for all of our Eagles!

Eagle Ambassador Recognition

We're also adding a new way to celebrate student participation.

Students will have opportunities to earn raffle entries based on the number of individual donations received, regardless of the donation amount. Whether a donor contributes $1, $5, $25, or $100, every supporter counts. This gives students another way to participate and encourages them to share their fundraising page with grandparents, relatives, friends, neighbors, and other supporters of VP.

One raffle ticket will be given for each individual donation. More donors = more raffle entries = more chances to win!

Raffles will include exciting Veterans Park prizes including Choose the School Spirit Day theme, Morning Announcements, Name a Lunch Item, Extra Recess for your class, and Pajama Day for your class!

Individual Fundraising Prizes

While raising money for year-round, school-wide enrichment, kids can earn cumulative prizes when they raise money. Everything at that level PLUS all lower amount prizes:

  • $35 - Spirit Run 2026 t-shirt
  • $50 - VP Swag - color changing UV sunglasses, keychain, and jibbitz  
  • $75 - $10 Deborah Ann's Sweet Shoppe gift card
  • $100 - Bring your stuffy to school for a day 
  • $150 - $20 Prospector Theater gift card
  • $250 - Candy Pillow
  • $350 - Choose the song for VP Dance Party Friday
  • $450 - A 5-item shopping spree at the fall Scholastic Book Fair 
  • $600 - $125 gift card to Lego OR American Girl 

 

Families with multiple children at VP may choose to pool their donations onto ONE CHILD'S fundraising page in order to reach each tier goal with their combined total. In that case, siblings may "share" the prizes.

**Raffle tickets will not be combined and will remain with individual students. Raffle tickets are based on the number of individual donations a student receives. 5 donations = 5 raffle tickets, regardless of the dollar amount raised by those donations. 

 

A printed pledge page will be going home via backpack mail soon to help your child raise funds. We will only be accepting donations through 99Pledges to count toward your child's prizes. Parents may choose to accept checks, Venmo, Zelle, etc., made out to themselves but will need to upload that total amount through 99Pledges.
