The annual Spirit Run is now....Friday October 19th!

 

Run is held at the VP Lower Field immediately following school. Students will run or walk as many times around as they can in 30 minutes.  Students that pledge $25+ will receive a spirit run t-shirt!!

 

In addition to a t-shirt there are so many other fun prizes -- so start asking friends and family to support you!

We hope you will renew or join the PTA!  Membership is optional, but encouraged.

 

Upon completing signup, or if you are an existing VP PTA member,

Questions & Answers

 

What is the VP Spirit Run?
A pep rally and jog-a-thon that will be held after school.  Students, teachers and staff are all invited!  Children are welcome to walk or run.  Come join us for fun and exercise! 

 

When is the VP Spirit Run?
Friday, SEPTEMBER 28th from 4:00 – 5:15pm  (Rain Date:  10/5).
All students who are participating will stay at school with parent volunteers and leaders.
There are many volunteer opportunities!  Get ready to cheer!

 

How will this raise money for Veterans Park Elementary School?
Students raise money to support the PTA by collecting pledges:  a set pledge amount (Flat Pledge) or a pledge for each lap completed (Per-Lap Pledge).
Following the event, students will have one week to collect on those pledges.

 

How / When can I pick my child up?
After the event is completed, all students will be gathered in the center of the lower field of the track by grade level and class.  Parents MUST go to the parent leader and sign their child out.  For safety and security reasons, no student may leave without a parent’s signature. 
The scheduled completion of activities will be 5:15pm.

 

Can parents watch and cheer?
Yes!  Parents are encouraged to come to a special area to cheer and encourage the students as they shoot for their goal!  Parents are also strongly encouraged to volunteer.

 

Are volunteers needed?
Yes!  Parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and older siblings are welcome to help!  We will be sending out a sign up for volunteers.  Email mbholbert@yahoo.com if you would like help.

 

My child can’t participate.  Can they still win prizes?
Yes!  All students can win prizes by collecting pledges and raising money.

 

When will the students receive their t-shirts?
Students will receive their shirts on the morning of the spirit run so they can wear them and enhance school spirit the day of the run!  The t-shirt will have a bubble on the back for laps to be recorded.  If you choose to wear another shirt a sticker will be put on the back to record laps.

 

Please remember ALL students must complete the

Student Participation and Dismissal Form by September 21st!
